Blizzard classic games are still popular and if you didn’t know Blizzard still offer updates for these classics…
Updating Warcraft III
Warcraft III is one of those classic games and with the the 15th anniversary of Warcraft, Blizzard are even opening new servers for the game.
Updating Warcraft III is an easy process which can be done in two ways. Here’s a quick guide. I am using a Mac but fairly sure the system will be the same on a PC.
This guide takes into account that you already have the game installed!!!!
The first way is in game. This doesn’t always work, but i got lucky and installed the updated this way. Start the game
On the menu, move to the Battle.net button
This is the important part, you must click the magnifying glass icon and select the server name closest to your territory.
Highlight the server and click ok.
Next hit the Battle.net button, the game will connect to Battle.net server, download the update and open a multiplayer screen. Close this screen and restart the game. And the game version in the bottom right hand side of the screen should be this…
In my case it updated, this doesn’t always seem to work and if it does you’re one of the lucky ones….
The other way to install the updates and Blizzards official way is go to Blizzards Classic Game Support site here: The screenshot below.
This site allows you to download the launcher for the game ( and all other classic games ) Change the dropdown on the left to Warcraft III, Hit the download launcher (screenshot below) for your platform, in my case Mac.
Run the launcher, the update will install and you’ll be bang up to date. With the Version number as before….
This seems to be the fool proof method that should work on all the classic games.
Have fun and thanks for your time….
